The Hart/Calu promotional train goes on and on. Dave and John made a stop at the New Jersey State Library to talk about their influences and read an excerpt from their new book, Adventures Along the Jersey Shore.
We had a robust crowd and we sold out all of our copies of the book!
The interview with the Courier Post is now online! Carol Comegno took the time to interview John and Dave during the book launch at the PPA in September. Carol asked the authors what inspired them to write the book and why they chose South Jersey its lore as the back drop for the book.
Hart said there is nothing like South Jersey. “It has its own natural resources and there are no other spots like the Pinelands and Jersey Shore in the world,” he said.
I read and greatly enjoyed this collection of novellas in preparation for an interview with the authors on September 24, 2015. The novellas are related but don’t have to be read sequentially, and they concern the summer adventures of teenager brother and sister, Geoffrey and Kelly, and their slightly older friend, Danny, on whom Kelly has an on-again, off again crush. These novellas, a literary format not often used anymore, also include reappearances by a host of eccentric, kind, and seedy characters that help make these tales fast moving. The Adventures Along the JerseyShore promotion train is going strong and heading to Princeton! We had a great time at the PPA last week and now we are heading to the Princeton Public Library to read a sample chapter or two from our new book and sign some copies as well. The event is on Wednesday, October 7 at 7:00 PM, and is free and open to the public–so come on by! For more information about the event, please visit the library website. We hope to see you there!
Dave and John had a great time signing copies of Adventures Along the Jersey Shore for our book launch party at the Pinelands Preservation Alliance on Sunday. We were lucky enough to have warm weather, and the attendance was very good.
The authors read sample passages from the book to the attendees and refreshments were served as well. We were also treated to the musical stylings of Paul Evans Pedersen, Jr.
A special thanks to Mike Pippin and Becky Free at the PPA for allowing Plexus and the authors have the book launch on their beautiful grounds.
